I managed a 1 mile swim at Guildford Lido this morning in 13-degree water without a wetsuit – the coldest yet I’ve trained in.
After suitable panic then a bit later an all-over relaxed feeling, I started to believe that my goal of year-round swimming outdoors might actually be possible.
It will be interesting to see what happens over the coming weeks as the temp drops a degree or two each week, and where it will eventually settle.
