It’s my last day working as the Business Analyst and Scrum Master in Scheduling & Listings at the HMCTS government digital transformation. And it feels great to move on from a high point.
I built a high performing Agile team and an excellent product to boot, and illuminated what their future could look like. But importantly ‘escaped’ before the heavyweight, slow turning wheels of government bureaucracy and business cases could bite me.
I saw enough of that bureaucracy previously, acceptable to some civil servants but in my mind nothing else trumps delivery of value and tangible change.
Which is the single thing I’ve built my whole career on to date. Here’s to some well earned time off and more of the same delivery mindset for whoever the next client may be.
Ask any project manager about the key to their success, and they will say that delivering a project is often more like a "dark art" or by chance, than a predictable science.
